Since we opened Natural Wellness Sedalia the response from the community has been heartwarming. Beyond the warm welcome, I have been impressed by the number of people in the area that are already using CBD products as well as with the knowledge that many of you already have regarding these products. That being said, there are still a few issues out there that I would like to address so that everyone understands exactly what we offer and how it is used.
First, CBD or Cannabidiol, is processed from the hemp plant. It is not marijuana and by virtue of the Farm Bill of 2018 is legal in all 50 states. It must contain no more than o.3%THC, which means that it has no psychoactive properties or effects, or in simple terms, it cannot get you high. CBD is a nutritional supplement, it can be purchased over the counter and you do not need to have a card or a prescription to purchase it. You do need to be at least 21 years old to purchase any CBD products.
Next, all CBD products are not equal. There are a number of places offering a wide variety of products that advertise CBD or Hemp Oil. Unfortunately, not all of these products are what they claim to be. Do your due diligence before you purchase any of these products. Insist on products that are Certified Organic, Non-GMO, and that utilize third-party independent testing labs to test the strength and purity of the CBD, as well as making those test results readily and easily available to you. Companies like Pure Spectrum, 1850 Hemp Co., and Hemplucid offer batch numbers on their packaging so that you can go to their website, enter your batch number and see the test results on the specific bottle you purchased. To avoid problems or the purchase of sub-standard products, only buy CBD from a reputable location, with a staff that can explain what you are getting and how it can help you.
Scientific research shows that CBD products can help with a wide range of health issues. Cannabinoids work in conjunction with the body’s endocannabinoid system, the system of receptors throughout the body responsible for restoring homeostasis. Anxiety, arthritis, inflammation, ADD, depression, Crohn’s, epilepsy, Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders are a few of the many conditions that may be helped by using CBD. We have a number of educational materials in the store that you are welcome to read through to help make sure that it is right for you. Humans aren’t the only ones who can benefit from CBD. If you consider your pet to be part of the family, we have a number of products to help your dogs and cats as well. With the holidays coming up there is possibly going to be an increase in the amount of traffic through your home. If you have an animal that has anxiety issues around people or noise, or an older pet that has joint issues or appears to have arthritis or inflammation and doesn’t get around like they used to we carry several lines of oils, chews and treats to help them feel their best.
